Taking Modern Lit. this year will be challenging but i also think i will have a good time. I expect the class to be hard but laid back, introducing new styles of writing and analyzing different works of modern literature, while also having fun. Looking at the list of books that we will be reading, I've noticed that they is a variety. One novel "As I Lay Dying" is a very hard read but seems interesting. The other book "Maus" is an easier read, in the form of a comic. I know a little about this book and I am excited to start to read it.
Another expectation i have for the year is cause fair. I have written personal essays, research paper, but never a cause fair paper. I'm excited to start this new experience but I am also nervous, because I know it will be very challenging. With the cause fair paper, I will also be presenting my cause to the entire school and community. This is a challenge for me because i have never done anything like this before.
That bring me to the goals of the class. One huge goal for this year is to learn how to tackle new projects and assignments. Learning new books with different writing styles will help me do this. It will help me learn how to think differently for different types of novels. The cause fair will help me accomplish this goal also. Public speaking is a valuable attribute, that i have never practiced. the cause fair will help me get practice, and learn how to do it properly. Public speaking is a skill i would really like to learn and be good at. I think that Modern Lit. will help me accomplish these goals.
